My Story

I, Ellen Gyasi Oforiwaa, emerge as a passionate artist from Accra Ghana. My creative journey is an exploration of self-discovery and an intimate dialogue with the world around me.

Born in Kwahu Besease and raised in Accra, my artistic roots draw inspiration from love and family, From an early age, I found solace and expression through art, a language that transcends words and communicates emotions in vibrant hues and intricate strokes.

My work is a visual narrative that seeks to bridge the realms of uniqueness and modernity. Each piece is a testament to my commitment to preserving the essence of self love and confidence, while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of contemporary art. Through my art, I strive to evoke emotions, spark conversations, and foster a deeper connection between the audience and the stories I tell on canvas.

Embedded in my work practice is a meticulous and deliberate creative process. Whether it's sketching the initial concept, experimenting with various mediums, or surrendering to the unpredictability of the creative flow, each step is a dance between intention and spontaneity. The studio is my sanctuary, where ideas flourish, and emotions are translated into visual poetry.

While diversity characterizes my portfolio, a discernible signature style threads through my creations. As a lover of the human body, nature and growth, i incorporate landscapes, beautiful people into my work to symbolize life, renewal, and vitality.. I draw inspiration from everyday women who are confident about themselves and embrace their uniqueness. My preferred medium is acrylics which i combine with rich Ghanaian fabric to  create stunning impressionist portraits.

I have been privileged to be a part of group exhibitions in Accra which features “Thisnobeart” held at Jamestown Coffee Roosters in Osu Accra (2021), Weekend Market thrift at Legon Mall (2022),an exhibition hosted by Accra-fashion week (2022). The Way It Is at Spintex hosted by Untamed Empire.

As I continue to navigate the ever-evolving Nudity of artistic expression, my commitment remains unwavering — to create art that resonates, challenges, and transcends boundaries. Join me on this expedition, where each stroke tells a story, and each canvas becomes a mirror reflecting the profound intersection of my identity and the universal language of art.
